This means that you can drag and drop your Google Docs and Calendars into your portfolio pages, sharing selected documents, files, presentations and even your schedule with your friends.

How An e-Portfolio System Can Benefit Your Business

By Admin | Published:

e-Portfolio systems are starting to become as popular for workplaces as they are for schools, colleges and universities. It’s easy to see why: They provide a convenient solution for tracking learning and development of staff, whatever the industry.

But that’s not the full picture. Introducing an e-portfolio system to your workplace can give you an invaluable insight into your staff’s competencies, allow them to demonstrate their knowledge and experience when applying for promotion, and ultimately engage them further with their own development within your company.

If you’re planning on introducing an e-portfolio system to your workplace, here are five reasons why

GCSE Changes, Revision And Learner Journey

By Admin | Published:

With the recent overhaul of GCSE’s, teachers and students will have to reevaluate the way in which they prepare for these exams. The current system of being able to complete coursework, or take module exams throughout the year will come to an end in 2017, when the first group of students will take their exams after starting the course in 2015. The marking system will also change so students will be graded from 8 to 1, rather than A* to G.

Make The Most Of Their Learning Journey

By Admin | Published:

Life’s achievements however big or small start as soon as you’re born; from childhood to adulthood you continuously learn, every single day. The way in which these achievements are documented, however, differ dramatically. Some people keep paper documentation, some have e-portfolios, whilst others don’t have anything at all.

In life there are those key moments that are integral to a person’s progression, and this documentation is crucial for smooth transition and understanding of their skills. There are several phases in life that require the ‘bridging the gap’ approach, particularly for moving from primary to secondary school, secondary school to college

How Blogging Can Improve Pupils’ Writing Skills And More

By Admin | Published:

Social media websites have revolutionised how we interact in the 21st century. In turn, they have also given rise to a more lax approach to spelling and grammar. ‘Text-speak’ can now be found across the internet – and it threatens to affect how pupils perform in English too.

However, many schools are discovering that blogging can be used to develop children’s English skills. Writing a blog about something meaningful, and that they’re interested in, will inspire them to write more, and write better.

But there are other benefits too. So, with blogging a key feature of Learner Journey, we’ve listed five

Three Benefits Of The e-Portfolio

By Admin | Published:

There are many benefits of using an e-portfolio system in your school – giving pupils a way of showing off their proudest achievements, record a history of their work and improving their ICT skills. With Learner Journey, however, there are other benefits – which help with making classroom time more engaging – and encourage learners to put in that little extra effort. Here are our top three.

Track Pupil Progress

Any e-portfolio creates an online record of a learner’s work. You can do this with Learner Journey, of course – but it goes a little deeper than that. Acting as a

Has there ever been a feature of Learner Journey you’ve not been too sure about? Our e-portfolio system is still relatively new and, although we give full training to those who purchase the full version, a quick tutorial in the finer points is always helpful.

With this in mind, we have produced a series of Learner Journey tutorial videos. They cover everything you need to get the most from your e-portfolio, from creating a study plan to embedding weblinks and blogging. Each one is easy to follow and can be followed by either teachers or pupils.

Anti-Bullying Week: What Are You Doing?

By Admin | Published:

Today is the start of National Anti-Bullying Week – and although if you’re a Learner Journey user you’ll be able to easily tackle and prevent bullying on a daily basis, this week does make the topic that little bit more front-of-mind for everyone.

Stopping as well as preventing bullying can be a difficult challenge for teachers, and these days it could be much easier for a bully to go un-detected, with mobile phone text messaging, social media and instant messaging all readily available to children to communicate with their peers.

However, with Learner Journey you’ll be able to protect victims of bullying

Supporting personalised and reflective learning

By Admin | Published:

Online technology has given educators new tools to make learning more personalised. Learning platforms are widely used in schools to individualise tasks and resources according to need and ability.

However, learning platforms are reliant on educators to update and to distribute content. The e-portfolio is owned and managed by the student, and acts as a personal record of achievement and progress that can be carried between institutions and into the workplace. The e-portfolio is an online space for reflection upon a student’s work and experiences, helping cement learning. It can also act as an internal communication hub to facilitate collaborative learning
