Easter is coming and the happy searching of eggs and sweets in all kinds of places starts again. Do your pupils all have the same Easter traditions? Besides searching for eggs and sweets probably not. So wouldn’t it be interesting for your pupils to find out more about each other’s Easter traditions?
Why not encouraging the children to document their experience of Easter on their e-portfolio. They could upload pictures of eggs they have painted, the best hiding place, the food that their parents prepare every year, and any other fun activity they have undertaken over the Easter break.
Encouraging visual and written documentation of their experiences will help boost their writing skills over the holiday. It will also enable you to have lively discussions in class afterwards. Use your e-portfolio and engage pupils by getting them to write about something they enjoy, something they are excited about. In this way you not only encourage the exchange of information and experiences among the pupils but are also able to connect even during holiday breaks.
Encourage pupils’ creativity and let the class take part in each other’s Easter experiences!
